QuickStart Engine now on SourceForge

Postby lordikon on Sun Apr 06, 2008 4:20 am

Our project is now being hosted on SourceForge.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/quickstartengn/

As soon as possible we'll have everything setup at SourceForge and we will no longer be updating code at CodePlex. However I do plan on publishing newest binaries at the CodePlex site, so we can have multiple download locations, and exposure :)

Moving to SourgeForge, just make sure that you are not violating the CodePlex agreements, there is something in the agreement about releasing the source together with the binaries when you firstly create the project.

LordIcon, it's time to remove the source from CodePlex and close the codeplex site too :)

I have no plans to shutdown the codeplex site. It will bring us more traffic and is a good site for a download mirror. I will not be putting any more source or forum support.

We could always just upload milestone releases to the source repository on CodePlex, since I do seem to remember reading restrictions about this and we may be required to keep the source tree up to do with the releases.

Have you added us to the SourceForge project? If not, then just disregard this, but if you have, then I am still unable to access the page. It asks me to log in, then says I do not have permission to access the project page.

I will try and get you guys added today.

EDIT: Bingo and Shaw added.

As far as source on the CodePlex site, I think it is fine to give out the source/binary together on milestone releases. I plan to do that. I just don't think we'll need to put any more versioned source for download. They'll get that from sourceforge.

Then why not keeping it for v18 only ?
For accessing v19, put a link to sourceforge on the codeplex main home page ?

Many of our links online will still lead to CodePlex. It is still a good source for current information, and a good download mirror.
